Digital Bangladesh is a new strategy for the development of Bangladesh, which is based on further information and communication technology. It aims at E-governance and service delivery through utilizing information and communication technology. In our country, good governance and quick service delivery are still a far cry. To bring dynamization in governance and service delivery, it is essential to start digitizing the service delivery organs like the Land department, PDB, WASA, Banking sectors, Education Department etc. It is also necessary to establish connectivity within all administrative units and bring more citizens to the information highway.

In this way, by ensuring mass people’s access to information, we can achieve sustainable progress. For example, telemedicine can bring patients at remote closer to specialist doctors working at major cities. In our agrarian economy, ICT can be used to provide our farmers with the latest agricultural commodity price information. E-Governance can narrow down the gap between the citizens and the government by reducing time and removing the hazards of the people. In excellent, we can say that digital Bangladesh can eliminate poverty, hunger, disease and corruption through technological progress.

The phrase “Digital Bangladesh” is currently the most pronounced phase in our country. It means digitalizing Bangladesh by ensuring proper access to the internet where all information regarding all the sectors of Bangladesh will be available. The word  ‘digital’ is the adjective of ‘digit’. The meaning of the digit is number. It describes the many information including file, music, video, an image, etc that is recorded or broadcast using computer technology. As we know that computer technology works with the binary number ‘0‘ and ‘1’. ‘0‘ means off, false, no, low or absence of electricity. On the other hand, ‘1’ means on, true, yes, high or presence of electricity. Generally, it is not an easy task to transform Bangladesh into a digitalized country. But, gradually Bangladesh is now becoming digital in every sector especially in IT. The benefits of making Bangladesh as one of the digital countries are many. Suppose, if we make digital in every sector, corruption will be decreased automatically. Because of the govt. will store every single information in the database. As a result, no one can corrupt. This will help to develop agriculture as an e-agriculture. Thus e-commerce, e-medicine, e-production will be established strongly. Every citizen of Bangladesh will be able to connect with the global village. The trade & commerce of our country will be helpful. This will beneficial for Finance & Banking sectors too.
