The 21st February

Mother tongue is a divine(cweG) gift. It is very important in the sense that the people of a country express their ideas, thoughts, feelings and emotions through it. The 21 February is memorable day in our national life. The 21 February is the called the international mother Language day. We are Bangladeshi and Bangla is our mother tongue. After the birth of Pakistan, the rulers of West Pakistan wanted to make Urdu as the only state language of Pakistan. But the people of Bangladesh opposed it and started struggling against the Government. At last they became successful on the 21st February, 1952 with the heavy loss of lives like Salam, Barkat, Rafik, Jabbar and many other unknown people. In 1999 the UNESCO declared this day as the international mother language. Now this day is observed every country of the world in order to show due respect the language martyr of 1952.
