Folk Music and Modern Music

Folk music and modern music together play an important part of our music with their particular differences such as origin, style, and listeners, beside their similarities. The first difference between them is the origin. While folk song is composed by general working class, each modern song is a product of an artist in personal. We can also realize that people are attracted to each kind of music by their own style. Folk music brings us to the world of peacefully beautiful countryside and benevolent people with the melodiously traditional music instruments. Modern music, on the other hand, mentions more various contents like the senses of human, happiness, sadness, or upset, for example, and even the social problems such as protecting environment, saving Earth, singing the praise of peace. All these contents are very close to the real life, apart from some songs which are so called market- songs without meaning. As the modern music often has modern topics, the listeners of this kind of music are often the young. They feel the attraction of new music's active and sweet rhythm whenever they enjoy it. In contrast, the elders and the middle-aged like folk music than modern music as this type of music has influenced them since the very long time they were born. We can see that both modern music and folk music are important to our lives and they make this life more beautiful.
