Good Manners

Good manners are the well behaviour that a person expresses towards other people. They reflect the identity and personality of a man. They are essential virtues of a character. They involve politeness, kindness, respect, education, culture and above all sympathy for others. Good manners are often called ‘Surface Religion’ because the essence of true religion is unselfish sympathy. They cost nothing. But their impact is immense. A man with good manners is liked and admired by all. The essence of good manners is the consideration for the feelings of others. For example, if we find an old man standing in a bus or train, it is our good manners to offer our own seat to the old passenger. Thus good manners teach us to be respectful and sympathetic to others. In fact, good manners generate kind feelings in others and create a soothing effect on the general atmosphere of the society. So everyone should cultivate good manners. But very regrettably, the youth of today badly lack good manners.
