My Favourite Cricketer

I like many cricketers. But my favourite cricketer is Sourav Ganguly – the Prince of Calcutta. He is a world-class cricketer. He makes more than 10000 runs in one-day cricket. He leads 49 Test matches, of which India wins 21. Besides, he has more than 7000 Test runs to his credit. He is also a strike bowler. He is said to be the most successful Indian captain so far. Sourav’s advent takes place during the crisis period of Indian cricket. It is he who has brought back the lost glory of Team India. In the last phase of cricket life he is ousted from the team due to his off-form. But he is back to crease again. His comeback is a great lesson to everyone struggling to rise up. He is an ideal captain of international repute. The young generation of cricketers such as Dhoni, Yubraj, Pathan and the like is the product of his captaincy. Indian cricket will remember him for ages to come for his invaluable contribution to it. All this makes him my favourite cricketer. I am really proud of him as a Bengalee.
